I have studied this post, done some due diligence and can confirm the math is correct.
That IS a 20¢ increase.

Just like the OP, your decimal is two places off.

you peddle this sentiment a lot. it’s not true. most “O&G baws” haven’t gotten raises worth a shite in years.
I didn't say American O&G baws. But somebody is making bank. And it has to be an O&G baw somewhere.

2016 was the last time I received more than 5% without a promotion or accepting a counter offer. Used to get 10 to 15% yearly without having to twist an arm.
Sounds like from this post you are still getting 5%, and were regularly getting 10-15%.
I hope you realize many, many people aren't even getting COLA anymore, not just one year, but many years.

So four tenths of a cent? You didn't budget for that?

I have several friends and it has happened to me as well who haven't even gotten a COLA in the last 5 years, then have health insurance cost go up, and basically bringing home less money paycheck to paycheck.
I mean, I think that is happening to millions of people.

And Baton Rouge is right smack in the middle of an area with a robust production system upstream and down…and a darn low gas tax.
Imagine Boston, Chicago, or Los Angeles where there isn’t a lot of refineries, pipeline infrastructure, or drilling.

Since 2020 I haven't gotten any COLA or raise unless it was for a promotion.

2016 was a long time ago

You’d need an 8% raise for 2021 just to keep up with inflation.

Welcome to the real world. I’ve never gotten more than 4% in 20 years.
