Gas fireplace won't light

I'm not sure if this is the right board to post this question, so if not, please direct me elsewhere. My problem is that I can light my pilot light and it will stay lit, but when I flip the wall switch to ignite the fire, I get nothing. There are 3 terminals: TH, TH-TP and TP. I jumped the TH and TH-TP terminals with a paper clip and the fire ignited. My question is, do I have a wall switch/wiring issue or do I have a termopile issue? Or something else completely? TIA.

Before trying anything too complex
Get a spray can air duster. Spray in all the ports.
A little bit of dust will clog them up and keep them from lighting.
I had a similar issue and this was all that was needed.

I don't know much about this, but from Google it says if it won't ignite it's one of these parts.

I'm thinking switch since it did ignite when you touched terminals. Buy I don't know exactly what those terminals do.

Pour gasoline on the logs, and don't be conservative...then strike a match while standing over it.

...but on a serious note, I have replaced 3 ignition systems in 6 years on mine--they just don't seem to sit well being off for so long.

Has it ever worked? I know mine has a knob with 3 settings: off, pilot and on. Then there is a toggle switch to toggle between just the pilot light and the fire being on. If yours is like mine, you need to make sure the knob is in the “on” position.
Also, with mine the pilot light has to be on for at least 5 minutes before you can turn on the fire. I assume this is because there is a temperature sensor that must heat up to ensure that the pilot light is lit for safety reasons.

Yes, it has worked. It started working intermittently last year and finally just stopped altogether. I know the knob you're talking about and it is in the "on" position. I haven't waited for 5 minutes after lighting the pilot, but I'm not sure that's the problem considering it worked last year. Again, I'm open to any suggestions at this point, so I will try that and see what happens.

Probably a stopped up jet.

Most likely. You can also try cleaning off everything with some fine grit sandpaper. Sometimes they get a little corroded and just need to be cleaned.
