I really don't understand..
what exactly does Gary and the rest of this crowd think that white people are holding them back from?
I constantly see people post things like "whites are scared of blacks' intelligence, they feel threatened by us" or "boycott black Friday for BLM, let's speak with our money"..
(I don't understand the boycott comment because most of this crowd is low-income anyways.)
But what are whites keeping them from? They typically qualify for a lot of government programs, free college grants, etc.,
Affirmative action helps them get jobs.
I have known some incredibly intelligent and successful black people. Some of them did not have a father growing up, some did. But what they all had in common was they did not make excuses, they did not blame others, and they worked hard. They also realized the importance of education and birth control.

Gary was also upset about the tram, which would have been a fine position to take. Except he wasn't upset about the absurdity of it, just upset because that's money that could go into economic development for NBR. For what exactly he doesn't just, he just needs to point out that its money they aren't getting to rile up his readers.

It is a picture of ignorance and "White Privilege", she hasn't had to live as most of us do, she hasn't had to go without. As you said, it's insulting to say that People of Color in NBR are "Beggars", and for The Advocate newspaper to print such ignorance tells me what kind of people they have running that company. Let's just be clear, without "People of Color" there wouldn't be any other ethnic group of people on this planet but I won't get into that, that's another intellectual conversation for another day. Who are these Healthcare leaders she is talking about? Where are they? Distance will always make the case, if you have to travel some 20+ miles to get to OLOL, then any boo boo with 2 cents and an empty cup can see or would see that an individual's chance to survive a serious auto accident or any other traumatic incident decreases by the minute. The Tram is a sham, it will only benefit downtown and LSU and the puppet in the mayor's office should be dragged in the street and tarred and feathered. And I see how easy it is for them to take our tax dollars and improve their communities and not ours.
