This is a mindset guys. No rules apply to them, because the rules used to be against them. Why should I have to subsidize the life of people who could care less about the way our society runs?

So because a stupid rule (whites only) was recognized as stupid and fixed, gives them the authority to act like an asshat.

Sounds about right.

So, I guess we should just let these sort of meetings be "free for alls"? That will accomplish a lot.

well Andrea Evens, maybe we need to return to the "Old Rules" if you have trouble following the new ones.

he was charged with disturbing the peace and being released on a summons is not the law.

Gary compared himself to MLK as well. Because they're so alike in that MLK was arrested 29 times.

It was a public hearing on specific issues. Speakers were invited to be heard on the topic being discussed. The Council Chairman made it clear at the start of the public hearing portion of the meeting that speakers must stick to the topic on the agenda.

There was also a notification sent out days ago informing the public that these council meetings are to adhere to the topics in which the meeting is called for, nothing else. John Delgado also sent out a statement Tuesday I believe reiterating the same message from the Council Chairman.
Its not our fault they are too ignorant to follow the rules.

Did y'all not see all the help they had. People documenting and organizing.

This is not a good thing. They are going to spin this up into more than it is and try to use it gain more support.

I know this is bad.....and I know his sheep and followers will not listen to facts. But the rational people (god i hope there are some out there watching) will see that he was clearly removed and detained for breaking the CLEARLY established rules at the beginning of the metro council meeting for causing a disturbance and speaking about something not on the docket.

it wasn't a special council rule. They were doing them a solid by letting them know they'd be breaking the law.

LA Rev Statute 14:103

(3) Appearing in an intoxicated condition; or

(4) Engaging in any act in a violent and tumultuous manner by any three or more persons; or

(5) Holding of an unlawful assembly; or

(6) Interruption of any lawful assembly of people; or

(7) Intentionally engaging in any act or any utterance, gesture, or display designed to disrupt a funeral, funeral home viewing, funeral procession, wake, memorial service, or burial of a deceased person.

(8) Intentionally blocking, impeding, inhibiting, or in any other manner obstructing or interfering with access into or from any building or parking lot of a building in which a funeral, wake, memorial service, or burial is being conducted, or any burial plot or the parking lot of the cemetery in which a funeral, wake, memorial service, or burial is being conducted.

Once again, what Gravy did wasn't right which it's what I said. Gravy can show up all he wants. I don't care about that as long as he follows the rules of the meeting.

That's my whole point.

It's called 'not worth it'.

Better to just kind of let it slide like they did.

I see it as caving to local racist antagonists. If they fear no repercussions for their ways then what is to stop them from doing it again?

You're reaching here. A summons was the right call. Common sense. Would have been the same for anyone.
