That seems like an odd choice for a funeral?

President Carter may not be many people’s favorite president, but he was a strong Christian and a great American.

One of my lodge brothers was on the helicopter that went down (Desert One) and spent 9 months in Iranian captivity. President Carter wrote a letter to place in his personnel file stating that the failure of the mission is squarely on the president and should never reflect negatively on the soldier. His wife gave birth while he was a captive and Rosalind personally called his wife and talked how bad they felt about the whole situation and sent her a baby blanket.
They were good and decent people.

Everything about this is weird.
Horrible song choice for any funeral not to mention one of an American President. The song is a communist anthem sung by a washed up country singer for supposedly the most Christian president ever who hailed from a small town in Georgia- about as far away as you can get from John Lennon.
Just awkward weirdness all around.
