Antique- your post have me interested. Are you local to BR? Where do you find this stuff? How much time do you put into this? Luck? Or do you have a method?

I live in Dutchtown but do 95% of my hunting in BR. I don’t have a method but I do have certain areas I go to or avoid.

I discovered Pantera because of a garage sale near Lake Charles in 1992. Was looking through CDs and saw one where a guy was being punched in the face on the cover, and it had signatures.

Vulgar Display of Power is one of the greatest albums ever written.

$2 Library of Congress tape player (homerun $100+)

The government loans (gives?) those things to blind people for free. My mother had one. I don’t see why someone would spend $100 for something you could get for free.

I paid $1 for a vintage Nike windbreaker, got home and saw giant stain on it.

Take it to a local dry cleaner and see if they can remove the stain.

If they can't, wear it yourself if you're doing anything outside that gets you dirty.

Very nice! What do you do with the stuff that you can’t sell?

Why do I imagine American Pickers coming to an abandoned store you've rented for storage?

$25 old Lionel train set (absolute homerun)
What year range is the train set? The loco/tender combo looks like the ones from a set I got in the late 70s (want to say it was a Wabash Cannonball set). Just curious what it goes for.

That Snoopy shirt looks pretty sweet.

Have you ever considered renting a booth at an antique store or flea market? I imagine you wouldn't get the prices you could from eBay but it would save the hassle of mailing stuff.

$25 is a good buy and it includes the paperwork. But, I don't know what people mean by home run because it is a common set that has no Boxes or set Box. If the condition is really clean you might be looking at a couple hundred dollars.

Eta ... you're probably looking more at the hundred dollar range. The Caboose has a big chip out of the body which greatly diminishes its value since everything now is about condition.

Where did you hit the jackpot today?

There were some sales in Shenandoah/Parkview that I didn't have time to get to.

I went through Old Dutchtown neighborhood sale and didn't find squat.

Also went to Walden neighborhood sale and only found about 3 sales, unless I missed some.

The wall clock you have is actually a zaandam wall clock. Definitely not a "unicorn". Also, did you get the weights with it? If not, its worthless. Most you could get for that is maybe 200$ if its in great condition. For 5$ though, well worth the buy and if you get >100$, congrats baw!

I repaired clocks for 10 years. My family had some clock shops.

Also, big fan of these threads. Keep em coming!
