Garage sale finds 11/7 - Homeruns & Unicorns!!!!
Posted by theantiquetiger on 11/7/20 at 12:51 pm236
I’ve said it a million times, rich neighborhoods have the best stuff.
I have a couple potential unicorns and three potential homeruns.
I spent $177. I did miss on one thing, I paid $1 for a vintage Nike windbreaker, got home and saw giant stain on it.
This was the perfect weekend to start my YouTube channel. I am hoping to have it up loaded by this evening.
$2 Legos
$2 Vans
$2 Anri
$10 new with tags Hello Kitty & Star Wars backpacks
$2 Gucci shirt & Polo hat
$15 ceramics
$5 leather picnic case
$1 each vintage t-shirts
$2 Hook on Phonics
$2 steamer
$1 cd’s & Joules
$2 Library of Congress tape player (homerun $100+)
$5 Atlas clock (potential homerun)
$2 anima books
$3 W German ceramic pot
$3 tv wall mount
$30 three stools (potential homerun)
$4 old Snoopy & Vera Bradley
$25 old Lionel train set (absolute homerun)
$25 Lucchese cowboy boots (potential unicorn)
$50 Burberrys trench coat (potential unicorn)

The boots!!!! (Potentially)
I bought a pair of cowboy boots for the first time Thursday. When I was researching them, I saw that Lucchese boots were $$$$, a couple five figure boots.
I just happen to find a pair today.

So if we just say “vintage” on an old shirt it increases in value by 300%?

Vintage clothes are clothes over 20 years old. These are from the 80’s.

I have a pair very similar to that. They are $400 or so new. A little more if they are made in Texas vs Mexico.

I couldn’t figure out what you meant by black nails, then I realized my 14 yo daughter holding the coat. Not black, but purple, and not me.

I went to a shop with vintage band tees in Savannah and those suckers were like $50-$70 per tee. Insanity.
The clothing I can maybe handle with a good machine wash, but upholstered furniture or things like those Vera Bradley wallets give me the major heebie jeebies.

I didn't say you did. I couldn't touch it though.
To be fair, antique stores are my #2 fear/phobia. Has been since I was a young child. I used to get stomach sick when we would go on field trips to plantations.. I think I even got sick at the old Governor's Mansion.

I can't explain it. Its not the public aspect necessarily. Its the old part.. and the being in people's homes where they... do home stuff. And how it smells musty.
I don't know, man. It gives me the major willies.

I really enjoy these posts, but I have to think that
is certainly a glass half full assertion.
