It is a more significant sacrifice when you live outside of Louisiana. Finding good seafood isn’t easy or cheap.

Not to worry, we’re all on Ozympic so we’re not really that hungry anyway.

Being hungry and fasting is for poor people that can’t afford modern medicine.

But you started a thread because of envy.

Technically, he started it because of gluttony. To his point, I always found it funny that people will “make sacrifices” by essentially having an all you can eat buffet each week

Catholic Charities has a 100% rating from Charity Navigator.

In 2024, the 168 agencies that make up the Catholic Charities network served more than 28 million meals to hungry men, women and children; provided emergency housing services to more than 295,000 people; and responded to 52 natural and manmade disasters – an average of one a week.

Centuries ago, when people labored, meat would have been sustenance, to get through the day. Breakfast was the meal after morning Mass, because you could not eat an hour before receiving the Eucharist, thus breaking your fast.

Shellfish are forbidden by the Jewish community. So, Louisiana has a unique loophole. But shellfish are not considered meat in the Church. In the old Roman Rite of the Catholic Church, Friday is traditionally one very small, non-meat meal, which would have been a great sacrifice on a Friday, while tending to a farm.

Also, Lent does not only mean abstinence; adding something charitable is also encouraged.

Baw, you’re the one that wanted all this attention to argue your point of view and you were wrong.

If you’re going to argue over what the rules are for a religion you apparently don’t practice. Without any noticeable empathy. How many times has this worked for you before?

So sorry no one’s perspective is changed for having the same wrong opinion as you.

You want to hold an authority on a subject but can’t even humble yourself when you’re clearly in the wrong.

The foods you’re arguing are not seafood are taxed as seafood. So give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and lighten up Francision.

I’m not. I’m not catholic and I still participate in lent. Sacrifice and being intentional on creating better habits is a great practice, tied to religion or not. I’m attacking retards who eat like shite all week and then go get their favorite meal on a day that’s about abstinence

may I humbly suggest you abstain from tigerdroppings for lent? please and thank you, mango.

Judaism prohibits eating shellfish because the Torah states that only fish with fins and scales are kosher. This includes crabs, shrimp, lobster, and oysters.

Also no mixing of meat and dairy.

Married women who are traditional, if you see their hair uncovered, it is a wig. Their real hair, must be covered, as it is only for their husband to see.
