I'm in the market for a new couch and some other living room furniture. Do you guys normally find better deals online or at your local furniture stores.

I hate dealing with furniture salesmen.

I don't know about deals, but if you need it anytime soon, get something "in stock" (online) or on the floor in a local place.

We ordered a custom sectional April 2021 and it still is not ready.

I'm not buying something that I need to be comfortable online.

ETA: That's not true. I'll buy shoes and stuff, but they're a hell of alot easier to return than a sofa.

Drive around different neighborhoods on Sunday afternoon. Plenty of free furniture options will probably be available set out at the street

We buy all ours from the High Point/Hickory area but most people don't have that options but HIGHLY recommended if you are close enough and want quality furniture.

One thing I will say about online purchases is I would buy case goods online but no way I would buy chairs and sofas sight unsat. They have to be comfortable or what is the point, well unless you are buying for a formal living room that is never really used.

Whatever you do avoid an Ashley store like the plague. Ended up canceling with them after months of frustration. Got Ashley products from the local place which they delivered in under two weeks. I’m sure it was more than Ashley but it was worth every penny of customer service I received.

Took 6plus months to get couch we ordered. Find it local or expect to wait.
If they say it’s coming next week don’t donate all your furniture because they may be full of shot and it will be another month and you have two small chairs to sit in.

We went to Ashley furniture during a sale weekend. Ended up canceling most of our order when we found the same items cheaper on Wayfair. Not every item was cheaper, but most were.

This. They initially said March date when we ordered in January, and then radio silence. Got an update finally after lots of calls and it was “uh we don’t really know maybe the end of July.” Yeah, f that noise. Avoid them.

For us, it really depends on what kind and pieces of furniture she needs. She has ordered some nice end tables, coffee tables, ottoman, a really nice chest of drawers, and formal dining table with chairs. They were all purchased from quality selections but the prices were better then buying local ,especially for the quality, cost less than half if we had bought in our local stores.
One thing we’ve found ordering online is they all use some local logistics vendor that has their own company with trucks and drivers, and we have had multiple pieces come in damaged and have to be returned. You sometimes can’t tell it’s been dropped or handled rough until you get it completely open. Then if it’s damaged, you have cardboard, stiff foam, plastic, wrap and whatever comes with it that has to be boxed back up. Then you call or contact the place you bought from and they arrange to send the logistics company to pick it back up.
It can be a hassle if it comes in damaged or isn’t exactly why you thought you ordered but we are happy with the stuff we ended up with after a couple of returns.

We absolutely love our microfiber sectional from rooms to go.

Especially since we were able to finance it for 130 months.

It truly pays to have good credit.

Check this place out. I bought 2 recliners at half the cost of a local store that actually had a longer wait time to be ordered. Identical recliners. I know there's a risk of damage and the hassle of returns but I'll roll the dice on that kind of savings.
