The best things cops could do is steer clear of these protests. A lot of these people are looking for a fight. Those who aren't looking for a fight will actually stay and protest peacefully.
Cops were all around the very small one in Boise and you could feel the energy growing. I rode by an hour later, the cops had left, only a few remained and were very peaceful.

They’re standing around watching. This has been a legal battle with the state for a while. Birmingham wants the monument down but the state attorney general has fought them.
