Thank you to all the brave men and women who serve. Y'all are strength in times of chaos.
I'm assuming this is NSFW. Either way, THIS IS HARD TO LISTEN TO.

Las Vegas Mass Shooting from last night

Damn. They knew where he was almost immediately, and had one cop on the 31st floor within a few minutes that could hear him shooting. Definitely a SHTF scenario

Total. Chaos. All that can be said.
Ok I'll say more. Listening to that reinforces in my mind that a small percentage of cops need to be trained in SWAT tactics so that in the event of a random mass shooting, there is a chance of having one or more officers in close proximity who can quickly storm the shooter. They play out too quickly to wait on the pros to assemble. It would be dangerous as hell and they should be paid accordingly.

That very thing was big several years ago. It was called "Tactical Patrol" and had a couple of guys per shift trained and outfitted for scenarios like this. Problem is it is expensive to set up and then the guys move on, change shifts, don't keep up with training, etc. Just not practical from a financial and logistics standpoint.

You can't predict where something like that is going to happen. When it does, you'll be lucky to have someone there within 5 minutes because of the stampeding crowds and traffic.
There was one cop on the 31st floor pretty quickly, but if he runs into something like that, who knows what could've happened? The guy could've had a bomb ready (and I'm surprised he didn't) to blow up the building

Damn.
"Lock your cars, citizens trying to take shotguns out of the cars."
Should have sent a baw with a shotgun up to the 32 floor and let him handle business.

And many liberals wonder why our police forces consist of such militaristic training tactics. This is why. Maybe we need more of it?

It was night time, so I'm sure they could see the muzzle blasts after he shot 50-100 times they'd be able to get a very good general direction.
If I had to bet, there was a sniper very close to shooting him through the window. I would think a city as large as Las Vegas would have a couple of police with sniper rifles on duty at any given time.

I was thinking they didn't have approval to shoot at a hotel, but I didn't hear anyone ask. They knew where he was shooting from early on though

Why would we need more militarization of the police ?
