I'm good with most kiosks (especially after the first time), roundabouts, etc. But I was at a McDonald's kiosk about a year ago and it asked me which table I was sitting at and I'm thinking, " I'm not at a table, I'm standing in front of the fricking kiosk." I had to leave the kiosk and find the miniscule number on a table so the worker could bring me my lackluster breakfast.

Marx was mostly wrong but he wasn't far off here

Just think about how dumb the average person is. A large percentage of the population can barely navigate their way through the menus on an ATM machine in a timely manner.
This isn't the glowing endorsement of human order-takers you may think it is, though.

I used one at Taco Bell.
Before you can say it yup fatty, wobbled back on my scooter to make it to the counter to get my 50 tacos and a diet coke.

The McDonalds in Dublin's Temple Bar Area has them. I had no issue using them and it was grand.
I was in a Wendy's, in the states, a year or so ago and they had them. An old man got pissed no one was at the counter to take his order. I told him you have to use the kiosk. He got pissed that he had to use that and left.

I like the idea of self-order kiosks. Most of the folks taking orders frick up half the time. At least if my order is wrong it is my fault.

It'll be like trying to work those complex soda machines at Five Guys and such.

It will take a few repetitions but everyone will adjust.
Leaving Disney, the McD's was all kiosks. But there were plenty employees in and around the place so I'm not sure what they're accomplishing there except perhaps they can squeeze more out of you using a kiosk. As well I don't think the employees wandering around spoke more than a few words of english.
