Yes.
The only thing that matters is do you enjoy hanging out with each other.
If I’m curious, I may ask you. If the conversation takes a lull, I will ask you as a conversation starter.
But when my friends and I get together, we just want to have a good time. Nobody gives a shite about the balance of personal life information being shared.
So to answer your question- yes. You are being overly sensitive.

Something I have observed over my years, are that people use the term friend to loosely.
Most people will have very few true Friends in their lifetime, even if they don't realize it. And even fewer if they aren't able to correctly identify who they are.
