quote:France's internal Muslim problems are mostly more from areas nearer than the Middle East. The legacy of their colonial exploits in North Africa are the majority of their problem children.
It wasn't until the Europeans divided up the Middle East that things started getting really hairy.
West Germany had Gastarbeiters (literally "guest workers") imported into the country by the tens of thousands to rebuild after WWII and make the German economy smoke in the '60s & '70s. They were Turkish, Italian, Yugoslavian, Tunisian, etc. and they in effect did the same thing in German society like the Northern Africans in France: not assimilate.
There's some speculation that Merkel might have taken in the Syrian refugees last year because she saw the German birthrate declining and the refugees were mostly young and she thought (probably mistakenly) that the refugees will give more to Germany over their lifetimes than they will cost. Kind of another gastarbeiter wave.
Time will tell, I'm skeptical for both Germany's & France's futures.

I have mixed feelings about this.
On one hand I feel bad for her and her daughter.
On the other, this is what Islam has done to itself and its the price peaceful Muslims have to pay for not standing up to barbarian majority running their faith.

No religious exemptions. She knew the law.
Plus I'm for removing extra clothing at the beach, but when you are close to the size of a whale than a human, its best to leave them covered up.

I'm not bothered by this, but mostly because I'm not French.

They can go to Dubai if that's what they want.

To a degree it's messed up, but at the same time if I was there with my family and there was a family in Burkas on a smoking hot day it'd certainly make me feel uncomfortable too. There's no way that can be enjoyable to wear to the beach, no way.
Maybe so, but you shouldn't have to call the police over what clothes someone is wearing.

Would you feel the same way if this happened in the US to US citizens?

The woman probably wants to be in a two piece.
But she doesn't want her head cut off for it, shite religion Islam is.
Get to the 20th century at least, assholes.

What if she just wearing regular dress? But still looks M.E.? You gonna make her take her dress off? My point was, her leaving her covering on, would of been the best thing for everyone's eyes at the beach. You guys can't take a joke for shite, no wonder why god punished yall.

quote:ACtually the bible tells that women should be covered up and their faces too. It also says that women shouldn't talk in church, let alone hold a position of power. Plus if a woman wants to learn anything, the bible say she should learn it from her husband at home. All of this is in the new testament too. But yes, primitive religions be primitive.

Why would one even want to go to the beach in head-to-toe clothing? Sounds miserable. They did her a favor.

Private vs public
not really comparable
I would be 100% against this if this were in the US

The law is the law..... I think that it's stupid that I can't strut around the local pool with my american schlong out.... but I still don't do it

Did you know sodomy is still illegal between consensual adults in Louisiana?
There are plenty of dumb unenforced laws on the books.

Did you know that if you break a law and tell that to a member of law enforcement in Louisiana...... you'll still receive a citation or go to jail? Although I don't want to take away that freedom so you're more than welcome to give it a try.

Wow what a hard line on terrorism...
Meanwhile a bunch of Algerian and Egyptian criminals are running around forming terror cells in broad daylight while France fiddles
