People dying has a positive impact on our carbon footprint.

bullshite. I know several people that live in Europe that have A/Cs and they didnt have to have a doctor's note. Many of the airbnbs I stay in over there have A/C.

I saw a video a while back explaining how France is able to provide free healthcare and other government services the US doesn't through much, much higher taxes. They had a 40 something year old, white collar, well educated married couple with high paying jobs and no kids. They talked about their 5 weeks of mandated paid vacation and short work week. They lived in an apartment that would make a dorm room at Southeastern look large. They owned no car, AC, or dishwasher. They shared a washer and dryer with half the building. The video was obviously trying to push this as all worth it because their healthcare was taken care of and quality of life was higher than in the US. All I could think was if they lived in the US, they would have a 5 bedroom house on 4 acres in a nice subdivision, 3 cars, all the AC they could want, and a medical plan than would probably put whatever France's government offers to shame.

Electirc cooling was invented in 1902 do you think humans needed it for the 5000 years prior?
Average life expectancy in 1902
Men 49
Women 53
"The infant mortality rate started a long slide from 165 per 1,000 in 1900 to 7 per 1,000 in 1997."
That's a whole lotta zero's into that average for 1902! As in one lives to 100, another dies in 1st year = average age 50

Ban assault heat waves
Posted on 9/9/19 at 7:16 pm to HailHailtoMichigan!

Record heatwaves in June and July caused the deaths of 1,435 people in France this year
64 mass shooting deaths in the US this year and some are willing to tear up the constitution.
Is the French government going to do anything to address 1400 deaths? Mandatory air conditioning? Maybe it should be provided by the government?
If it saves just one life...
And think of the children...

Already have. Fail.

They should pass a law banning such heat and dying from heat.

Absolutely
They make do with less than we do. It’s also worth mentioning, they don’t buy new consumer goods very often. So all of their electronics will be much older.
Electronics are a trivial sacrifice, but it’s something you notice.
