That's the only thing that really had me concerned. He was in legit trouble when they set that crap on fire and was running cars into it.

Not well versed in legal aspects but I'm surprised all 6 officers' trials are being done separate. At least to me, it would make sense (for city emergency management agencies) to have it done all at once and deal with any negative reactions if they are found not guilty. This way you have a potential for a riot/civil disorder scenario 6 times.

I think the first trial is a test balloon. If an acquittal or a hung jury is the outcome, the other charges may be dropped.

What's the white to black ratio on the jury?

Not like it matters

Maybe they just wanted to announce the verdict first thing in the morning so they had a full 8 hrs of daylight to fight the riots rather than announce it right before the sun goes down.

If they announce it this morning, all the rioters should be on their way to work and won't be able to riot until they get off this afternoon?

I have not followed the trial closely but the little I heard from reports of the trial sounded like the defense blamed the other five policemen and made their guy look like the good cop.

I bet all five policemen go this route.

Which would be insane if it worked.

I believe this officer is black. Odd that they tried the black guy first.
