Jury was deadlocked yesterday. It would be funny if those morons rioted over a mistrial

Didn't they put the spine severing on the driver?

Authorities say Gray, a 25-year-old black man, broke his neck on April 12 while being transported in a police van, shackled but not wearing a seat belt. His death a week later sparked demonstrations and made him a symbol of the black community's distrust of police.
Prosecutors say Porter, one of three black officers charged in the case, was summoned by the van's driver to check on Gray during stops on the way to a police station. They say he should have called a medic for Gray sooner than one was eventually called, and also should have ensured that Gray was wearing a seat belt.
Porter is charged with involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office.

Sadly I think riots are eminent no matter what the verdict is.

Really unreal they aren't going to call this thing a mistrial. Unfair to keep these jurors today, and the obvious implication is, "you all need to find this guy guilty so the city doesn't burn."

The judge has to send them back at least one.

A legal beagle on CNN last nite said that if the driver/any defendant is found guilty, the prosecution can then call him/her as a witness against the others and that defendant can no longer plead the Fifth. However, he can continue to use it while his appeal is processed. And most legal talking heads have been predicting that any appeal will be successful because of the highly contaminated jury pool. The presiding judge, black, refused several motions for a change of venue from Baltimore where there were actual protesting going on, loud, out side the courthouse during jury selection. FWIW.

Unlike Tuesday, there have been no questions from the #PorterTrial jury since they went back to work at about 830am. #FreddieGray

Jury just buzzed the court with a question
ETA: Jury is requesting witness transcripts and judge denied the request.
Verdict could be coming soon.

Why would the judge deny this and what effect could it have on the verdict?

Because they went home and were reminded that Baltimore would burn if no conviction.

What witnesses would be able to shed any light on what happened other than the other guy that was in the police van?

Another buzz from the court...could it possibly be a verdict when just yesterday jury said they were deadlocked? #WilliamPorter @wbaltv11

I don't understand this case at all. Just seems like such a dearth of facts. Hard to comprehend what happened and how it happened.
