Good for France.

I sat in on classes at a nice high school in Paris when I was part of an exchange program in 10th grade (lsu2006 was with me).

Those teachers were old school like the US in the 1960s. No bullshite.

So pretty much what high schools here already do

ETA: I agree phones shouldnt be in schools for several reasons

Hell I dont think smartphones should be given to kids until they're at least 16

Exactly. We have people freak the frick out all of the time when a kid’s phone gets taken away at work.

I was finishing school around when quality smartphones began to come out.
iPhones changed the cheating game forever, just google the question. 98% or tests are from databases and quickly found

We weren’t allowed to have cell phones for quite a while. It wasn’t until high school that we could have them, but using them in class was automatic detention. Maybe it was a suspension.

I know Rummel allows them on campus, but if you're caught with it in class it's a warning, 2nd time is a detention, all the way up to a suspension after multiple occasions...

and I think it may lead up to an expulsion...

Yeah, the problem is enforcement.

You'll have better luck prying a fish from a grizzly than getting a cell phone from a teenager.

Parents only encourage the stupidity, who do you think is the one texting and calling the kids half the time?

My daughter takes hers to school, but it is supposed to be off/in her backpack..I assume she complies because she isn't an idiot and enjoys the use of the phone...I can't speak for parents that would know their kids are in class and would send them messages..That sounds pretty dumb on their part

The phone comes out once in class and I take it. Mom and dad are welcome to come pick it up at their convenience.
