Is that bad? I drank cool aid growing up (the flavored drink, not the Jonestown cocktail).

Does Kool-aid still make the packets that require you to add a cup of sugar. When I was a kid that was the only kind there was. Took a long time to stir all of that sugar in.

How many people are old enough to have grown up drinking Tang with their breakfast? How many remember when it was first introduced as being what the astronauts drank?

Kool Aid is something that blacks overwhelmingly accept as part of their culture, but a white guy asking about it is apparently ridiculous.

But he was a dumbass for asking it.

Why did he even ask about fricking Kool-Aid to begin with?

She says she cooks this dish especially in the summer, then he asks about kool aid. And says "not even in the summer?"

He associates summer and kool aid I guess

That's not awkward. Awkward would be him asking how much she spends a week on grape drink

Used to drink it as a kid & eat it like a pixie stick. Good stuff. Made your tongue orange as all get out.

I don't think anyone is actually offended by this. It's just funny/awkward that a tv anchor would randomly ask this. It completely threw off the cooking segment.

Also, let's not act like that kool-aid or grape drank jokes or not a thing.

These yankees up here in PA consider Fried Chicken and Watermelon to be popular mostly in the black community.....both of which are enjoyed almost universally in the south.

So I don't get the Cool Aid thing either.

I get that stereotypes exist for a reason, but I never understood how eating fried chicken could be attributed to a select group. Who DOESN'T like fried chicken? Yard bird is delicious.
