Japanese Security Defense Force. Or their version of a military.

Honestly, it’s not that hard to Google the initialism to find out what it is.

Ehhh, possibly. Depends on why this person killed Abe. If he kills him for the worst reasons someone may suspect, it’s as big as JFK’s. If not, then maybe this.

Yeah, and people are overlooking that Japan has the third largest economy in the world. If the person who killed him is at all inspired by the second largest economy in the world, then that’s going get really, really bad.

He is dead no doubt. We would have heard of him going into emergency surgery or something. They’re waiting to make a formal announcement

The Japanese media doesn't usually come out and say dead because they just don't right away. However, they have used things like "cardiopulmonary arrest", which means he's probably dead.

gun laws are a pretty big reason why their gun deaths are so low

No. The Japanese are pacifists and they actually raise their children. It's impossible to compare Japanese society to the fatherless, aimless society of violent American youth who commit the vast majority of gun crimes, and then say is because the Japanese have more gun laws. It is also probably easier to block criminal gun trade just due to their geography.

Only a sure thing if he were shot at or near his heart. If they zapped his heart into a normal rhythm on the med flight to the hospital and have him on a ventilator, very, very, theoretically, he could be alive.

What is more troubling for him is how long it took paramedics to get to him. If his heart stopped (“arrest”) and a defibrillator didn’t get to him for 10 minutes or so, even if they did zap him, he’s probably brain dead.

Some posters may have wanted the shooter to be Chinese but it appears he's turning Japanese.

I really think so.

I’m pretty sure China had nothing to do with this. It’s more than likely a crazy Japanese citizen. Wouldn’t make any sense for China to do this.

to sane people, but you can't count them out.

Never trust China, Russia, the middle east, N.K, most of Africa and probably India

As a note, Trump and Pence have both put out a statement, Biden and Harris have not.

I’m more worried about a crazy person who is with them than Xi having made an order. This would be extremely aggressive if Xi made the order, and he tends to be very patient. I’m just more worried someone listened to him that got the wrong idea to assassinate Xi’s archenemy.
