Let an expert on estranged wives help out. This to me sounds a lot like.
David cheated on his wife. she moved out.
They are legally separated and sharing custody. He's desperately trying to win her back and she's not having it.
On a night David had their daughters, the wife went out to a bar. At 2 am she heads home and brings Mr Jody-friend home with her. David has been lurking near the house. He's likely shitfaced drunk(even worse with kids in car) and goes on the alleged tirade.
I wasn't there but I've been on all 3 ends of this exact sitchiation b/c I'm the embodiment of white trash.

I don't think tirade is the correct word for his actions. Technically, I think battery (along with its predecessor, assault) would be more appropriate.

Just another classic case of some devil woman fricking up a good man's life. She probably asked him for a separation. And he went over there to try and work on their marriage, just to find her getting dicked down by that beta mf. Then he snapped. Happens to the best of us.

Yea that's a good point. Just seems that his shock and reaction is a fresh wound, not like if she had been boning this guy for a while.
Who knows how they got to living apart but anyone who's been through divorce with kids, they almost always include a spouse following a spouse around town with kids in tow and often leading to confrontation.
It's human to be irrational and emotional during a split. Most of us yell and fuss and go home. Some do what David did. And the worst of the worst do what pieces of shite do(I won't mention).
Hope this dude gets it together and maintains a positive presence in the kids' lives.
