and what do you take for it?

the first time it took me by surprise when i was doing my usual 'racing my kid across a field' and noticed my legs were lethargic and it took me a couple of minutes to get them moving full speed.

now its like one out of 4 days i can take a flight of stairs 2 at a time and the rest of the time i'm like 'where is the damn wheelchair incline for this curb???'

tl;dr cad wants to know what the ot recommends to fight joint aches & pains.

Late 30s early 40s. Noticed the start of pain in changing IG temperatures a little earlier than that.

I never noticed it due to taking collagen peptides for many years.

I started having what you call lethargic legs here in my mid-thirties. The body just won’t do what the mind tells it to do anymore.

I’m 55 now, and I still don’t have any joint pain severe enough to even take Ibuprofen for.

Get a personal trainer, you probably could stand to lose some weight.

Even a modest loss of 5-10 pounds can make a significant difference when it comes to back/knee pain.

Mid-30s for me. But I also never let my body heal when playing the adult rec ball. As soon as the pain stopped, or I could stabilize with a brace; was back on the field, diamond, and/or sand.

I take Aleve as needed and can get a prescription Naproxen when absolutely necessary. Does get achy with the cold weather, but really lets me know if I'm sick or just dealing with allergies.

As another poster pointed out, get in the gym (if you don't already). Get the blood flowing, build up the complementary muscles will help stabilize joints and alleviate some of the pain (depending on the issue). If unsure, go see your Dr and get a P/T script to work with a therapist on exercises to do, and what you should listen for in your body.

Late 30s feel stuff more, mid 40s creaking, late 40s inexplicably ache from sleeping or sitting.... now 50, just like others say, move more/hurt less, take good vitamins. I like turmeric, licorice, collagen too but maybe placebo

I’m a man, I’m 40, and I still play recreational sports and don’t get sore. First six months getting back into it in my 30s were a bitch.

If you stay active, I don’t think you feel as bad after doing activities.

Started around 40, but it didn't bother me all that much because I could work through. Now at 50, it's almost comical when my wife and I wake up in the morning.

What's crazy is the amount of time I have to spend warming up just to exercise. My warm-up, which is basically walking on a treadmill and stretching takes 45-60 minutes. That's just to get to the point where I can do cardio stuff.

And running is just out of the questions.

First your metabolism changes around 28 yo and those nightly Ben & Jerry’s show up on your waist.

At 32 gray hairs show up. You have to now work out daily or you become a blimp.

At 45 you’re with a receding hairline. Your joints start to ache. That knee injury pain from high school comes back. You’re now now using propecia and Ben Gay.

At 50 you get on finesteride which slows your libido so you’re reading the OT Viagra thread. And you notice gray hair in your pubes. You start a bucket list and buy a car you shouldn’t.

At 55 you have less hair on your hair but hair sprouting out your ears. Your metabolism slows down even more and have blood work for cholesterol, check your hypertension, get a colonoscopy and you’ll have polyps which will be removed and you have to now be aware of cancer and change your diet. When you bend to give your dog a bath, you have to lay on your back for 5 minutes so you can get up.

At 60 you DGAF and drink and eat edibles and finally enjoy life and start checking off your bucket list. But you’ll hurt like hell.

Then you die.

And after 25 years no one will remember you and it’ll be like you never existed.

Enjoy!!

Dislocated shoulder in high school, 40 now, can tell you when it'll rain or temp will drop a day or two before it'll happen.

Not much you can do against father time besides try to stay active and adjust how you work out as you age.

did this a few years back and its definitely been a factor in my daily activity. i used to ride a bike for 4-5 hours and feel just fine afterwards. now i get out for an hour and it starts sapping all my strength and i'm looking for a shortcut home.

so yep, everyone is correct..i need more exercise.
