Sharks are yesterday's news. Orcas are far more interesting IMO. Btw, Shark Week starts tonight if anyone cares anymore.

I would love an orca week. I gave up on shark week when they did the megalodon lives thing.

Orcas are assholes. They kill for fun sometimes, preying on easy targets. I’ve seen a video of an adult sperm whale chasing them bitches away.

Belly of the Beast: Feeding Frenzy

In a Shark Week first, researchers brave a great white shark-feeding frenzy inside a life-size whale decoy – which could be the key to finding the biggest Great White Sharks in South African history

Meh....Shark Week has sucked balls for several years now. Ever since they started going the star power route and 20 minutes of the 42 minute show is about them, I don't care for it. I did like the Shaq one a couple years ago.

Meanwhile, NatGeo has been having shark month. I like that, just sharks and none of the other bullshite.

Great Whites immediately haul butt when they see Orcas.

I'm a fan of Team Orca.

They catch Great Whites, turn them upside down and the shark goes into a catatonic, docile state, and then eat nothing but the shark's liver.

I would love to know how they learned to do that, why large and powerful Great Whites aren't a threat to Orcas, and why they acquired a taste for just the livers. With fava beans and a nice Chianti too?

Crazy shite.

Great Whites congregate around the Farrallon Islands at certain times of the year, 30 miles offshore San Francisco, and marine biologists go out to study their behavior feeding on seals. IIRC it's the seals breeding season that attracts large numbers of both to the area.

Not often, but in the years Orca's show up the Great Whites, some that are tagged with a tracking device, completely disappear.

I was a regular Shark Week viewer until the fake Megalodon "documentary." Felt tricked into a total scam and have never watched it since.

Last few years they have proven that Great whites primarily food source is actually other sharks not seals and dolphins. Orcas have apparently switched to sailing yachts.

Long may they rule.

Biggest jerks in the ocean by far. An orca week would be great though.
