No one mentioned the Koenigsegg CC8S yet? Used a twin turbo Ford V8. Was a badass for its day.

In my younger days I saw an Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite that someone had shoehorned a Chevy 283 into. Don't know what tranny was in it, but he could not pull off in 1st gear without breaking the tires loose.

Fun to drive and at the time I owned them they were not expensive. The SP was in great condition, but the Interceptor needed a new interior. With the pricing of the cars at the time, it wasn't worth it to spend that money. The leather door panels and all the leather seats was expensive and had to be sewn (I found no leather kits at the time).;

Facel Vega HK500, French car with a Desoto (Chrysler) Hemi initially. Started with a smaller hemi, then a larger hemi, then the 383 c.i. Chrysler Typhoon engine. Like the Jensen Interceptor, it had a ladder tubular frame. About 200 were made each year (it was originally the Facel FVS then it morphed into the HK500).

They were a bargain at one time. By the time I thought about getting one, they were bringing top dollar. I've driven one it was a blast to drive.

Great aesthetic design execution but it stock form it's miserable in anything other than short trips from the intense cabin heat. That said, I would still own one.
My father had its even more desirable predecessor, the De Tomaso Mangusta which only had 401 built. My father described driving the Mangusta as like :Driving a very fast oven" .
Here is his Mangusta in the mid-70s

The one I looked at was a nice car. Red with black racing stripes, and a removable hardtop, 4speed. I think it was called a MK IV model. I never drove it, I kind of had my mind made up on the 701/2 Z28.
