That infotainment screen is nowhere near big enough. I have the 67" version in my ride.

Damn gonna be 3 EV threads on the first page...

Yea they pulled this update. On the flip side, if that person's dealer is shitty with no loaners, he can reach out to ford's ev team and arrange a rental and reimbursement through corporate. Not that anyone actually cares here.

They're so concerned about this issue that they didn't even bother telling dealerships they should make it a top priority and that they must provide a loaner/rental reimbursement without the driver having to contact Ford directly.

Uh, have you been around many dealerships lately? Very few have loaners because they have very little inventory.

Yup. That's what the screens look like in the lariat and platinum trims.

Eta: could be a mach e I guess. Looking at the dash.

Very nice of Ford to give towing directions on the screen.

I think that should be mandatory for domestic manufacturers. Instead of the manufacturer’s logo flashing upon startup… just give towing directions for 30 seconds.

Yeah mine has a ton because it's not shitty. But okay some don't. I get it.

I guess. I think it got pulled this past week and recall notices went out this week.

My understanding is that it's only a handful of trucks that got bricked with update. Not sure why ford corporate would need to reach out to every individual dealer on this.

Eta: could be a Mach e . I do know the lightnings for a similar update that bricked a few trucks. Must've happened to the mach e as well

This type of software embedding in all cars will revolutionize the repo side if I had to guess. Track. Brick. Tow.

Little inventory my arse. They are full of trucks. No one is plopping down nearly 100k on a new vehicle and that is not just for EV’s.

The car manufacturers and dealers got too greedy ordering cars and trucks with excessive luxury packages to boost car prices while interest rates were low. Now that that interest rates have risen the car market has slowed and fewer people are purchasing vehicles with those luxury packages if at all. Now the dealers are screwed because they have this extra inventory on the lot and have to pay their “note” or floor plan interest on all the expensive cars sitting on the lot. Some dealers might be willing to make deals even if they have to lose money on the sale a car in order to make their payments. There are even some 2022’s still on some dealer lots that can be sold as new since they have such low mileage.

Maybe Ford is different, but I’ve been to some BMW dealerships that hardly had any cars on the lot. This is from Covid on. Asked for a loaner once and they practically laughed at me.
