Ford Motor Co. is recalling thousands of vehicles due to problems over a lack of seat-back restraint, which could pose a risk of injury during a crash.

More than 550,000 trucks and SUVs, including 2018-2020 Ford F-150s, 2019-2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty trucks, 2018 -2019 Ford Explorers and 2019-2020 Ford Expedition vehicles with manual driver and/or front passenger seat-back recliner mechanisms, the automaker said in a press release.

The recall also includes some 2020 Ford Explorers and 2020 Lincoln Aviators with rear outboard seats with manual seat-back recliner mechanisms.

“Affected vehicles may be missing the third pawl required for seatback strength,” the automaker said.

You won’t know it’s missing parts until you are rear ended. Definitely take yours in ASAP if it’s impacted.

It’s not just American. Toyota Camry recalls were pretty frequent and bad. Wasn’t it them that had the airbag issues? And accelerator issues that killed people?

I trash Ford because they consistently peddle garbage.....but our last Camry was a massive piece of shite. It was the exact opposite of our 4Runner, which was bulletproof.

Guess you missed Toyota's recall last week of about 200k vehicles... that had already been recalled for the same issue

So basically the lower trim levels. Shouldn't a/effect anyone on the OT since we all drive a Raptor, King Ranch or Platinum

The 2020 Lincoln Aviator/Ford Explorer was recalled before it even got to dealers.

This is different than the Toyota airbag recall. This is a manufacturing issue vs a 3rd party component issue.

Takata’s bad product impacted all major manufacturers.

It's all about using the cheapest Chinese parts available.

Ford pickup buyers will continue replacing their crappy vehicles with new Fords every 4-5 years come hell or grenaded Powerstroke because that’s what their dad did.

So you can get laughed at until there is an actual recall notice mailed to you? The recall is 19C07 which is a compliance recall and it’s only an inspection for now not a replacement yet for certain models with certain build dates at certain plants.

Mine is over 3 years old now, and so far, other than an issue the first week I had it, it's been a good truck. But I went with just the XLT trim, so it's not that fancy inside, so less to go wrong.
Was a lot cheaper than a comparable Tundra when I bought it.
But I do worry about long term reliability, but so far so good.

Drivers of all vehicle makes wonder why people buy Ford. It’s not exclusive to Toyota.

I'm willing to bet that you'll never see a recall involving turn signals because they are rarely used these days.
