This exact scenario happened under Trump and he pressured the company to not relocate.
Yep, and now that he is out of office and taxes are going up on everything, you will see the fleeing continue.
EHC.

How can Ford think this is a good business decision. No baws are gonna buy fords now
Chrysler and GM literally stole money out of your pockets during the bailouts 12 or so years ago and dumbasses are still buying their crap products.

Seems like UAW endorsing Biden wasn’t a good idea. Trump was willing to use tariffs to prevent auto manufacturers from moving their factories out of the US and protect American jobs. frick em, elections have consequences

When I lived in Louisville I worked at a bar right down the street from the Ford Plant there...
Many employees who worked in the kitchen at the bar/restaurant I worked at ended up getting hired at the Ford Plant, and these guys were not the brightest bulbs and many had felonies. We used to make jokes like "Only 4 felonies on your record? Sorry that's not enough felonies to work at Ford" or "IQ of 50? Sorry that's too high to work at the Ford Plant"
Anyway these Ford employees would come to our bar/restaurant on their breaks and get totally shite faced, and then go back to work. I could never trust a Ford vehicle because of this.
They also were really cheap. They were horrible tippers, and would try to hustle us. They always said that there was a UAW discount at our restaurant/bar, even though it never existed at any point in time, and would get all heated and upset if we didn't give them the UAW discount and cause a scene.
I swear even the biggest dumbass you know could have easily gotten a job at that plant. The absolute dumbest people you will ever meet. How anyone could trust a vehicle built by these idiots, I have no idea. They also had a massive sense of entitlement because of their union membership.

why is this board so low IQ?
There is no nuance. It’s either 100% the president’s fault or 100% the fault of his predecessor, regardless of party.

yea like I'm not a fan of sleepy Joe or anything insane such as that but so many here do not have the capacity to be objective or reasonable at all.

Not fake news, just a hissy fit by a child. Maybe if you want to consider that fake news, IDK. From the article it said the 2nd shift was laid off. Not the entire plant moved to Mexico. So is that the same thing as suggested?

I’m catching all the DVs for pointing out these decisions are almost always based on local tax breaks. These companies go wherever the money is best for them. That’s true regardless of president, and most of that is to blame/credit on local taxing authorities.
Doesn’t take anything away from Trunk to point that out while also pointing out he often tried to facilitate those decisions at the local and state level.

The laid off a second shift the same day they announced the Blazer would be built in Mexico. Blazer could have been built here, but it wasn’t.
