Ford Issues Recall For 5 Models In One Day

First up is the safety recall for 2011-2013 model year Ford F-150s. A total of 1.48 million of the full-size trucks are involved with about 1.26 million in the US and 221,000 in Canada. Ford claims these F-150s are all equipped with the six-speed automatic transmission that may experience an intermittent loss of the transmission output speed sensor signal to the powertrain control module. This could result in a temporary and unintended downshift into first gear. Given that speed plays a role here, the downshift without warning could lead to a loss of vehicle control. There have already been five accident reports, one of which involved "whiplash.” Dealers will replace the powertrain control module.

Next up is the 2017-2019 Lincoln Continental, the vehicle whose future could be in question. The issue here is the door latch. Ford says about 27,000 Lincoln Continentals in the US and 1,200 in Canada may have a door latch motor that may malfunction and not fully engage due to a buildup of silicon contamination. It’s also possible the door could open while driving.

Lastly is the safety compliance recall for the 2019 Mustang and 2019 Lincoln Nautilus and Navigator. It’s possible the instrument panel cluster assemblies could be blank when the vehicles are started. So far there haven’t been any reports of accidents or related injuries but about 4,200 vehicles in the US and 150 in Canada are affected

I think when the next gen Tundra is release, I might have to get out of my F150.

You can’t get out of your F-150?
Is the door latch also broken?

I have a 2013 F-150, it's had problems since day 1 but it's paid off so I'll continue to drive it. But never buying a Ford again.

Just buy the Toyota folks. (They’re more American made than most Ford’s anyway)

Bring back the Crown Vic!!!
I know the exploded in rear end collisions because of the gas tank placement, but I am tired of everyone slowing down when they see an Explorer. All cop cars should be Crown Vics.

As long as the truck nut clip isn't breaking on the '15 F250 super duty, were ok.

If that’s after the 5.4L V8 debacle, you are probably okay. If not, sell it before you have to replace the spark plugs.

The new Camry and Avalon are really ugly.
Toyota needs to hire the Mazda people to style their cars. Then they would be unstoppable.

Fricked Over Rebuilt Dodge
Not making excuses, but a buddy of mine wife’s Audi Q5 had more recalls than any car he’s ever owned... So it happens a lot...

Toyota really isn’t good with styling cars IMO. Good quality and packaging though.
The Avalon and Lexus RX May be the ugliest cars on the road, but both have excellent interiors.
