I don’t understand why they don’t just go directly to consumer at this point. I say this not really understanding how the business works but it seems unnecessary to have the middle man to begin with.

So they make a choice.

Farmers are moving away from John Deere over subscription models and not being allowed to work on their own equipment.

A free market will self-correct

I think you would see some shops that dedicate themselves to warranty work only.

BMW already has this in some areas

Free market is an illusion when collusion is rampant.

Do you mean like collusion from dealerships lobbying for laws not allowing consumers to buy direct from manufacturers?

All I'm saying is Telsa is running with subscription services and it needs to be stopped in its infancy, because once that model gains a foothold, we're never going back.

I'm not mad that they come out to you. See them in Houma every so often

You are still paying more than you would with a direct-to-consumer model

That all sounds like perfect world free market sunshine and rainbows. We don't have one of those.

Historically, before the covid reorganization of everything (Reset), if you're willing to wait for prices to drop or go to another state to get your vehicle you can save a LOT.

I'm 100% with you on direct-to-consumer auto (anything) sales. I just want language banning subscription services.

As I said, farmers that don't see the value in it are moving away from John Deere over their BS which includes subscription models. The same can happen with vehicles.

Tesla has been the industry standard EV for so long and can get away with some of the BS they use to generate revenue but that will probably change as other manufacturers catch up.

So they won't inflate a f150 XLT $16k to discount it $16k?

You're a more optimistic person than I am.

Ford’s biggest problems in no particular order:

1. Their build quality
2. Their unions
3. Their dealers.

Some of their dealers are awesome. Some are total scum bags. The company would be more successful without the crappy dealers.

You pay for it at the brewery, but often times the brewery has to sell it to a distributor, buy it back, and then sell it to you. It’s a racket.

I think you are referring to a specific Louisiana distro law, but that's not quite how it works, though it is bullshite.

I haven't heard of any other state or city having such rules.

I know many breweries charge similar prices to what the retailers around them charge in an effort to not undercut their partners.

yep, marking up an already POS truck that's 70k on the lot to 90k will do that. Ford is garbage.
