Damn. I was following the thread but got busy. When I came back it was gone. Thanks for clarifying.

It's sad because it was just about to pop off. People claimed Saggy might have just been Emily attention whoring then when people tried to connect those dots, Saggy stopped posting for a while. A few people, myself included, said we thought Emily was LSUMarket440 and after 2 post that John suggested to not poke the bear. Shortly after that, Market440 came back blasting Saggy, calling out her supposed real name, etc.....then thread was whacked. It sucked because it gave me great entertainment and time wasting today. Admins never let us have any fun.

It’s Apple. but that sounds like it could be used for some pretty nefarious purposes.

To those acting like TikTok isn't a severe concern, even fricking wikipedia has sourced details on the matter
See for yourself if you like.
The summary boils down to this: You do not get to be a company, especially a tech company, in China without the CCP telling you how to think, how to breathe, and what you are allowed or not allowed to do.

I read that article and they never explained exactly why, specifically, it's dangerous. They just used vague terms like "spying", "problematic", and "malevolent".

It's going to be hard to convince people, especially young people, why it's not good to use it if they can't give examples of exactly why it's bad.

Honestly, I don't even know the answer, and I'd like to.

which is why its a bunch of crap honestly

if it was really that bad, take it off of app stores, explain why its bad, what it does etc

Grats on missing the point entirely. I said it as such because wikipedia despite being so easily edited for whatever purpose you want has an entire section dedicated with a multitude of sources very easily pointing out the issues with TikTok. Do I need to go through and post each individual link for you?

China is fricking with us. We are fricking with China. This is how international espionage works.

Like, how dare the Russians hack our elections (never mind we're also trying to hack theirs).

That you think this a "die on a hill" conversation is part of the joke you still don't get.
