Wouldn't be a shock at all to me if there isn't Mardi Gras in 2022 thanks to the leadership of Destroya.

Ronnie got his throws and a ride for free.

Just saying it’s always an option.

It’s hard to put a dollar value on the right amount.

Throws easily range from .05 to $5.00 each.

For Endymion, I usually buy 500-$800 in Krewe throws, 3-400 in discount beads (20gross) plus a ton of LED stuff. Our float puts in a big online order, that’s the best way to go for discounted light ups.

All in for throws probably $1500

That being said, the guy next to me may buy 100% Krewe throws, spend three times as much, and have half the qty. But hey, I’m sure the chick he throws to keeps the plastic garbage an extra week before throwing it away.

Thoth, $2500ish a year, half of that is little stuffed animals and nerf footballs though

Throw the beads you caught the weekend before.

if you're looking to save money and are not afraid to get your hands dirty, just hit up all of the sewer drains along a parade route. I heard that they are a gold mine of throws and Teedy Cantell and the S & WB chief might even give you a proclamation for saving the city and preventing future floods.

Usually about 1k.

Riding a night parade? Don't buy beads, buy light up stuff and stuffed animals. People usually let beads hit the ground and don't pick them up. I also started throwing T shirts, people love them...

I have been riding in Endymion for many years.

It used to be that people went wild over long beads. Not anymore. Now they want stuff that lights up and that can get expensive. Your idea about getting some good stuff and some basic stuff is a good one. Get enough light up products to be popular, but get some bags of 48/12 beads too, otherwise you may as well be throwing $10 bills off the float the whole time.

How much? In the past I have spent close to $3000 but sometimes I can get by with about half that. You get tired of throwing that stuff after awhile. But it is a lot of fun.

I’ll never be able to ride because I’ll never commit to spending $2,000 on beads and throws. I’m just too cheap.

I grew up off of the beginning of endymion’s route - it was always one of the best parades

Mid-City was the next day (on canal st) - and it was family oriented so no fiber optics or good beads - but they always threw moon pies and zapp’s chips lol

Chitown, your boys throw lead. A lot of it. And it isn’t fun to catch. As high as ammo prices have gotten they might be spending as much on throwables as a Mardi Gras parade.
