You're an Asian accountant. I am sure you'll be out of work for like 5 minutes if you get laid off.

First, I'm not in O&G. Second, so because you saw someone flaunting truck nuts on your MySpace account, you laugh at everyone? Like I said, you're a dickstain.

Dude, once the domestic US oil industry is run out of business, the foreign producers will THEN jack up the price to $5 a gallon. Collapse of this magnitude is not good for the long-term for us.

Those record profits also had a lot to do with demand and more efficient drilling methods and not just higher prices.

Very debatable.

The infrastructure for domestic production doesn't disappear over night.

The Arabian producers have made it very clear that they will keep prices low to protect their market share, but they will only be able to keep posting deficits for so long.

I understand the effect it will have on my community and I hate that honest, decent people will be on hard times, but as a young guy with a decent-paying job and great credit who is about to buy a house, I'm not terribly upset.

Industry's fluctuate, people lose jobs, people gain them in another sector.

This isn't your favorite liberal utopia where everyone gets a job just because you think they should. Someone has to pay these people. Money doesn't just magically appear in the form of paychecks

If you got laid off, that sucks. (Truck)Nut up and learn a new trade, or go to school, or sell your shite on eBay.

You seem to be doing ok, since you have time to dick around all day on the internet during everyone else's work day.

I feel bad for the families, but a part of me doesn't for the uneducated idiots that brag that they make more than college grads working 2 weeks on, etc. karma is a bitch

What you're selling is probably a little too much for where I'm at right now. I just need a little 2 bed, 2 bath garden home right now. Maybe a 3/2 with a yard if I can find it out in the western part of the parish.

People losing their jobs sucks and it's tragic, but oil field workers are typically making above average wages for their education and skill levels. If they don't have the sense to put money aside to protect their families from hard times hopefully this dip will teach them that.
