Just moved my 2 year 9 month old son into a “big bed” because he was climbing out of crib.

The little baw will not stay in there, been almost two weeks. Bedtime now takes about an hour and a half because he keeps getting out. If we lock the door, he will lay down on the floor by his door and sleep like a dog.

When I go to sleep I’ll go in there and put him back in his bed. And once he’s finally down for good, we unlock it again, but between 2-4 am he’ll sneak in and do the same on the floor by my bedside lol we’ll wake up cause he usually talks in his sleep. It scares the crap out of me thinking someone else is in the room.

Anyone do the whole red/green night light? Did it work?

I feel bad he’s literally willing to sleep on the floor, but lil baw just wants to be by his old man. I guess we just keep the door locked all night and he’s eventually gotta choose his bed or the floor?

Probably not exactly suggested. But I had zero tolerance with mine.

Has never once slept in my bed. Never was acceptable to get out of bed expect bathroom

If you come out the room you better potty.

You care too much. Put down some pillows and blankets and let him make a pallet in his bedroom. My rule is… if they ain’t screaming but they breathing, they good

Lock him in and let him sleep on the floor. He’s sleeping, so be happy and get you some sleep. He will move back to his bed eventually.

Also, we used this and it worked like a charm.

Wait till the night terrors start and you end up having to drive down the interstate 45 minutes each way for him to fall asleep and to get him out the house so he doesn’t wake the other 2 screaming his lungs out

This is going to sound like a typical OT troll but I mean this with all of my heart. Right now is when he needs to learn that daddy doesn't frick around or make exceptions. Maybe mommy does constantly, but he needs to know that daddy does not. Sleeping, eating, whatever. Daddy runs this bitch. If you wait until he's older to establish this, it will be much much harder on your whole family. Do this now. And if he cries, he cries. But someday he'll be a better father for it all. You have to think long term, which is hard as a young parent when you are thinking short term.

Our 3 year old comes into our room every night between 2:00-4:00 and gets in our bed. It honestly doesn’t bother me at all. I know it won’t last forever and I cherish that the little guy wants to be near his mom and dad.

Our 1.9 year old will sleep in his room pretty much all night.

We just let her sleep in our room. I like having her in there.

Don’t put yourself through that if he was sleeping fine in the crib. Just order a crib tent and zip him up in there. Much safer
