I take milk thistle twice a day myself for liver support. Didn't know dogs got liver issues.

So is moldy corn. The main ingredient in your food.
Science Diet was popped a few years ago when they found high levels of the chemical used to euthanize pets.
Bet your vet didn't mention that? Or the money he gets every month just from keeping that food on display.

This works great for my 13 year old Min Pin:
I also give it to my 11 month old Doberman.

older dogs tend to get polyps on their liver
dogs have pretty resilient livers as they can fully recover if function dwindles down to %20.
My dog was on it's death bed, had jaundice, was peeing blood, vomiting, and had bloating...that was about 10 months ago
**the supplement was vet recommended, he said some medications for liver actually have milk thistle in them

Hill's prescription dog foods don't normally get high marks. But we've had our dogs on a Hill's prescription food for about 9 months and they no longer get diarrhea. We get both wet and dry and they seem to enjoy it.

Giving them a raw diet will change their lives faster than anything, you just feed them raw meat and poultry . Take an entire raw chicken, half for a smaller dog, and throw it raw into the backyard and watch them go to town. They also love turkey backs, liver and really any other cheap meat or chicken. Within a couple of weeks they will have perfect teeth, the shiniest coat you can imagine, zero allergies, way more energy and the best part it their shite turns white and into dust in just a few days so you really don't even have to clean up dog shite.

Several other prescription pet food companies besides Hill's if you are concerned about their quality control issues. They have similar products and some pet owners like them better. 2 examples--Purina prescription foods and Royal Canin.

But like I said, the results speak for themselves. Just read the reviews on the first link I posted on pet360.com. A 4.8 of 5 stars based on 507 reviews is pretty fricking strong!

FDA link.
Science diet still lists "Animal fat" in their ingredients. They can be rendered from any source. The fact that dogs have slowly begun to develop resistance to that common anesthetic dhould be a red flag.
All foods containing "animal fat" had detectable levels of the drug.

I don't see minerals on there
"all chronic disease can be traced back to mineral deficiency"
but glad your pooch is improving, get him a mineral block from farm supply...
