I wonder if the Corps of engineers blew up the levee like they did in the lower 9th Ward?

This is nonsense and will not be allowed here. Everyone knows George Bush did it.

Shows me how Monroe will look in a month if the rain doesn't stop here.

The way that parking lot filled up so quickly is terrifying.

Yes! Sometimes I wonder what BR would look like if the levee here failed and this gives me an idea of how fast it happens.

Robert Plant prophesized this decades ago.
good call my favorite zeppelin song.

Kansas Joe and Memphis Minnie recorded/performed it in 1929, as an old blues lick-a year after flooding once devastated Louisiana and changed the whole political paradigm here and elsewhere. Thoughts are with those folks in Iowa that’s just no good.

That is seriously scary how fast that happened.

How did they know to get out at that very moment? Must have gotten tipped off by a time traveler or something like that

Interesting -- if you look at google maps where that restaurant is, it appears the area of the break was right at what looks to be some sort of dam in the middle of the river. I wonder if the build up pressure from that dam contributed to the break.

There were a couple people outside when it happened and I also imagine that sound is quite loud.
