Buy your own plane if you want to limit who can use a public mode of transportation.
Or shut up. Either way.

Because it's YOUR problem. Kids are allowed on planes, and the airlines are actually quite accommodating. Why? Because people have kids, and airlines like to make money so they let their kids fly too.
Is it annoying when a kid is crying, yes, but you could find 100 things to be annoyed about on a plane. Some situations are much worse than other (squealing toddlers are worse than crying infants). I feel for you, I have been annoyed in the pet but parents have to live their lives, and it is a very short time you have to deal with it.

So what is your solution? You want children under the age of 2 to be banned from airplanes?
Under age 3?
Age 5?
Under age 3?
Age 5?

Reserved family flights for people with kids. Seems like an easy fix.

You're accepting this as a reality the moment you purchase your ticket.
If you dont want to deal with it, your options are:
1)Drive
2)Take a train
3)Charter a plane or helicoptor
4)Do nothing and stay home.
5)Hike
6)Bike
7)Whine about it on TD

I actually hope you're being serious with all of this. The idea that my kids make you so miserable on a flight you'd consider banning children from planes makes me genuinely happy.

I sat across the aisle from a family with maybe a 4 year old and an 8 month old recently in a flight from LHR to IAH. I couldn't believe how good those kids were.
The little one was in mom's lap in the aisle, and other than dropping some things that I happily picked up for the mom, and giving me little smiley eyes, I didn't even notice her except for about 5 minutes of whining when they first boarded. I was impressed.
That was a 9 hour flight. I bet she probably cries some on short flights because babies do that from time to time, but the point is parents believe they can and do control their kids for the most part.
I fly a lot, and a crying baby is no more annoying than the fatty I have to sit next to, the chatty women in front of me, the seat kicker behind me, or the dick that eats his tuna salad sandwich a few rows away.
And I'd rather fly with 100 crying babies than one mother fricker that smells or has the beer farts.

Exactly this. I'd rather sit by a baby over a family that has terrible body odor or something like that. I rarely hear them over the noise of the plane and my headphones.
I've been on plenty of flights close to babies, and although they cry sometimes, it's generally fine. Once they get their food or parents put on their cartoons, it's fine.
My last flight had a single mother with a baby. She was exhausted and stressed. You can tell this flight wasn't one for pleasure. My wife and I played with the child and even held her for a nap while the mother napped. God forbid Rouge would've been in our seats instead.
My 2.5 y/o will have two flights in the next few months. Although he's been a great flyer, my wife and I also prepare everything we can to make it that way. Snacks, toys, movies, and even a JetKids bag for sleeping. Some parents may be assholes, but most do everything they can to not inconvenience others.

Oh, you can't control a baby? Then don't get on a plane full of people with an uncontrollable monster.

Where the frick did this "keep kids out of public" mentality come from? I'm surprised people like you even have kids.
Well..some people SHOULDN'T have kids. This is mainly because they don't deserve it.

Great thread
I can tell who the people with kids are and are willing to annoy anyone else for their own convenience
These people are like public smokers....screw everyone else while I get mine

Currently in the air. Small plane with two seats per row. Lady and her kid were in two aisle seats with just the aisle separating them. Without asking, she was parked in my seat and when I walked up, immediately got defensive and said I'M FLYING WITH A SMALL CHILD! (he's like 9) and looked away. No thank you after I told her it's no big deal. Nothing.
Parents suck.
I can handle crying fine. It's allowing the kid to squirm and flail their arms on my face and kick my seat that I can't handle.

You bet. BO is one of my irrational fears, I don't mind kids at all.
Kids cry, some people just need to grow up and accept its a part of life.

I had this a couple months ago. Hispanic woman who spoke no English flying with her toddler. Little girl fell asleep with her legs in my lap and the woman kept apologizing and pulling her away. I didn't mind it at all. She ended up sleeping there the whole flight.
Difference was that the mother was apologetic and make an effort.

Every single one of you frickers deserve a kick in nuts for even taking the chance. Have 3 little hellions crying before this thing even takes off.
Flying without noise canceling headphones. Every one of you frickers that complains about children on a plane that doesn't have a pair of these headphones deserves a kick in the nuts!
