Not no but hell no. You will have plenty of time to put her on a pedestal.

If you do that, unlike the movies, she then has to get a vase and water and trim them and place them somewhere and water them and then throw them away

Do NOT show up with flowers. If you really want to and you really, really hit it off on this date then maybe send them a couple of days after the date saying you had a good time. Maybe.

Yes, bring flowers. If she doesn't have a vase avaliable, she's trashy anyways and you don't want to be with her.

think it would depend on whether it is someone you have known awhile or not

If you are virtual strangers it may make you look like you are trying too hard.

Skip the flowers and take her some Rohypnol. But don't forget to erase your contact information from her phone when you leave.

If you must only one flower and bring it out at an appropriate time... Like we're settling into the car, picking music for the ride to the date, "I thought you might like this", and then be the big dick.

I always bring flowers for a first date. Rarely get a second date though. :(

I had a second date with a very nice lady. Just so happened the second date was her birthday. So I had her a bouquet of her favorite flowers on the table.

Some gestures go far.
