If I was comfortable with a government that requires me to pass through checkpoints and produce my documents whenever they demand it, I'd move to China. But that's just me.

That passport looks fake, in the paddy wagon you go, and sorry you don't get a court date to argue with me.

No government employee can be judge, jury and executioner.
It doesn't matter how you feel about the protestors, no government official has the right to declare that they will murder you if they don't like the law you are breaking.
Threatening bodily harm and death from a government official should have all the small government conservatives here up in arms... but go blue or some shite.

Maybe you should, I have no problem producing my proof of what country I am from. I have lived in and traveled to many countries, my passport has many stamps and I have be respectful to any country I have been in and submitted to requests of my passport. The pic in my avatar I took myself.

You'll have to pardon me if I like the rights in the constitution.
I am curious how you'll fight for recourse when you don't have a court date to look forward to though.

Every protester that does anything more that stand somewhere out of the way and protest should get lit up.
And if they are Americans protesting America, send the IRS to their house.

So you're saying that every time you get pulled over for a potential moving violation you want a court date? Or do you just show your license and registration?

Most people don't have any principles. It's all about tribalism. The other tribe does it and it's time to burn down the world. Their tribe does it and it's keeping America safe.

You intentionally conflating an event with probable cause with something requiring no probable cause? Seems disingenuous af to make that analogy.

So you're suggesting that the only check to confirm whether they're a citizen or not, before they get sent somewhere outside the country, is a check of a document by the ICE agent on the scene? And that there are no other checks that happen with any databases or levels of law enforcement or the courts?
Just from the streets right to a seat on a plane?

So entering a country illegally is not probable cause?

You need to listen more closely to what he said, as he chose his words carefully. Attempting to murder a cop through any of the means he mentioned, or pointing a gun at them, will get you shot by them...as it should.
There's an easy way to avoid that fate, believe it or not.

I think he thinks ICE agents are just grabbing dudes who look El Salvadoran or Venezuelan, for example, and tossing them on planes headed south. And that they're not instead looking for specific people who they know to be illegals who have been given an order to leave.
Baw needs to stop reading the lefty Facebook memes.

The person I was responding to was asking why have a court date at all, as if no due process is necessary.

If I'm pulled over for a violation, I get due process. I get to have my day in court if I wish to contest the ticket. The officer can't immediately debit my bank account for the fine.

Never more evident than the current times. Its easier to control herds than it is to chase strays.
