Video and full story

quote:

Surveillance video captured a dramatic scene inside a Florida convenient store where a man allegedly attempted to kidnap a 13-year-old girl, according to police.

Suspect Craig Bonello entered the store Tuesday and grabbed the teen, who was shopping with her mother, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office said.

Bonello, 30, can apparently be seen on surveillance camera pulling the girl by her arms and dragging her to the front door, police said of the mid-day incident that happened about 80 miles west of Orlando.

Sheriff Jeff Dawsy said Bonello was "intentionally shopping around the girl and seen stretching on the video."

"He searched out his victim -- he went after that child," Dawsy said today at a press conference.

But the teen's mother quickly jumped into action, grabbing onto her daughter's arm while fighting off Bonello.

"He got his butt kicked by the mom -- that was the great thing about that video," Dawsy said.

Bonello eventually let go and ran out the front door, as off-duty Citrus County Sheriff's Dep. Jonathan Behnen was getting out of his patrol car to enter the store.

Just knowing my wife, she'd have shot him at some point, probably multiple times. And then pistol whipped him just for good measure.

My 13 yr old knows how to break away from being grabbed and brutally kick anybody that does so in the crotch.

I've seriously tought both of my daughter's......
But as long as they're with their mother, there won't be no grabbing.

Good thing the deputy wasn't on-duty or he would have tazed the girl unconscious and dropped her on her head

That's horrifying! It's so unsettling to see how bold a kidnapper will be. It scares me as a parent.

When I was a kid, me and some neighborhood friends were throwing a football in the street. There weren't that many cars that passed through, so we usually recognized the people that did drive by as people from the block.

A silver sedan passed by us twice and then circled the block and stopped at an intersection about a block from where we were and just sat there idling.

We noticed but didn't really care.

One of my friends kicked the ball over our heads and it rolled down the street a ways towards that car. Another one of my friends ran to get the ball and when he was about two driveways away, the sedan started rolling forward. As the car passed my friend, the driver abruptly stopped, swung the door open and yanked my friend by the arm/sleeve and tried to pull him into the car violently.

My friend squirmed away and ran, the driver slammed his door and peeled out. It all took about 7 seconds.

None of us moved a muscle.

This was in broad daylight in a relatively quiet but active neighborhood.

That was a fricked up situation.

After seeing how brazen that dude was in broad daylight, I'm not sure he can ever be rehabilitated. He should never see the light of day, but I'm sure he'll be back on the streets in under 2 years.

And by then he will have probably figured out it's much easier for him to "identify" as a girl.

I was really hoping that video would show the would-be kidnapper getting the living shite kicked out of him.

Could you imagine ole boy trying that shite with a large black mother? Momma would have fricked him up and then got her homeboys to smoke his arse either in prison or on the way to the courthouse.

Sounds like your friend deserved it for playing in the street.
