"Permanent" Daylight Savings Time is the same as NO Daylight Savings Time.

somebody sure as hell should, pick a time and stick to it
instead of flipping an hour back and forth just pick one and leave it alone. if there is good reason to change the time then change it permanently and so what if half the year you go to work or go home after dark.
on another note - is florida really actually leading the way on doing something smart

It's weird that you can't understand that calling it standard time, when that means something completely different to the rest of the country, doesn't make sense.

I don't like it. Instead we should just 'spring forward' for only 30 mins and then keep that time as permanent time.
I get why they go back an hour and if you are ever awake and aware of the time of the sunrise and sunset, you will understand this too. Some days in the deep winter the sun won't rise until almost 9am (if we didn't go back an hour). That is why I purpose to spring forward for only 30 mins and keep it for ever.

Eh, 30 minutes seems arbitrary. Let's compromise and go 45 minutes. I think I'm beginning to understand how our legislators work.

Yeah, daylight saving time is summer time, and no one in the country actually follows saving time year round. States follow standard time year round, but standard time kinda sucks.

Then you'll understand how they're going to end up with a bill that makes us spring forward only 57 minutes, but fall back 63 and then spend $1B on a hummingbird memorial in Senator Schumer's district.
