Florida is on its way to making daylight saving time permanent, as bills pushed through the state’s Senate and House unanimously this week could change the way the state keeps time

quote:

The bills would exclude the state from changing its clock twice a year. Instead, daylight saving time would be the state’s time all year

quote:

If the bill passes, Florida will join Hawaii and most of Arizona in following standard time year-round

All states should do this

My preference would be to stay on Daylight Saving Time year round...hopefully, this will become the norm.

Great job by the Florida legislators. This is clearly the biggest issue affecting Floridians today.

Changing our clocks twice a year is fricking retarded.

Good for Florida and I hope Texas follows.

These 2 statements are in conflict with each other.

This seems contradictory.

Does this include both the Eastern and Central Time zone portions of the state?

this. Florida is doing it the right way. Daylight savings time should be permanent nationwide.

The panhandle is basically a part of Alabama. It will be weird having it in eastern time.

Further, Florida will be the first state to ring in the New year.
It will be really strange around the Tallahassee area.
For example, Tallahassee,in the Eastern time zone, will be at 12 o'clock. Go west a ways on I -10 ,then it will be 11 o clock. Then go North a few miles to Southern Alabama, and then it will be 10 o'clock.

Definitely not the biggest man. But one problem that actually has an easy fix. Unlike most problems.

Just because you have a big problem like getting treatments for cancer doesn't mean you should ignore small problems like having a dirty arse.

The article stated they are also trying to change the Panhandle to Eastern Time.

Florida trying to save on Medicare expenses. We all know the winter residents are a bunch of blue hairs. It’s been proven that there is a correlation between the time changes and heart attacks. Florida saving lives.

That’s a good thing. Will get dark at 9:15 in the summer. Can tee off at 6pm.
