No, it's a pathological sexual orientation that is lifelong. There is no effective treatment for the condition. Exclusion from society is the only way to insure convicted pedophiles don't repeat their heinous acts.
If left to his perversion, the average pedophile will molest scores of children; as many as he can get access to. The 82-year-old in the OP had probably molested many children. He won't hurt any more.

I need to find it, but I read an article by some guy about how Nassar would last 2 years tops in prison before he's either murdered to commits suicide. It was interesting how he says the staff basically let the other inmates do it.

The amount of losers in this thread that are okay with this guy’s murder is staggering. We have something called due process in this country and this prison staff completely removed that from this man. The man was 82 and was being held for transfer to another facility because of incompetence meaning he may have had dementia.
