MARIANA, Fla. (AP) - Florida authorities say an inmate who killed his cellmate last month while awaiting trial for killing another cellmate in 2015 is now in solitary confinement.

The News Herald reports 21-year-old Frederick Patterson III said he killed his 82-year-old cellmate Arthur Williams on Jan. 15, and told correctional officers that "there's one less child molester on the streets."

Patterson, a convicted burglar, was sentenced Thursday to life in prison for killing 45-year-old Scott Collinsworth, a convicted robber, in the Apalachee Correctional Institution.

Patterson now faces a first-degree murder charge. Williams, who allegedly tried to lure a 9-year-old boy into his car, had been ruled incompetent 10 days earlier and was being held in the Jackson County Correctional Facility awaiting transfer to a mental facility.

Sometimes vigilante justice is acceptable to me. Child molestation is one of those times.

I guess he figures the neck tatt ruins any chance at a fruitful life in the real world so he may as well do some good behind bars

Can his next cellmate be Larry Nasser?

So he's a burglar who killed a robber and a child molester.

That's a 2-1 record. Cut him loose.

Eta: just saw the neck tat. 2-2. Parole only.

Update

quote:

DNA evidence was returned today, and it cleared Arthur Williams of all molestation charges according to the official release from the state DA. Arthur Williams would have been set free today, pending a second test result of said blood-work

I am 100% serious. In cases like this, "street justice" is the best justice.

Yes, my update is fake. But people being arrested for crimes they did not commit is not uncommon at all, which is why we dont let inmates kill each other

I was a little curious how DNA evidence would exonerate a molestation charge

The same board who claims every guy accused of rape is an innocent victim of the #metoo movement is saying this guy being arrested is 100% guilty and deserved to die

Guaranteed the guards will casually inform Nassar about this.

I mean, I agree with you. In reality, this guy was never even accused of molesting a child. It was alleged he was basically stalking the child and tried to lure him to his car. Guy deserved due process, but I doubt anyone stalks and attempts to lure a child into his car for the first time at the age of 82.

Yep

This guy hasnt even stood trial yet

Slight spinoff

In that thread from a few weeks ago, I was abocked, and downright terrified, that nearly 2% of all prisoners put on death row have been exonerated with DNA evidence

That is a terrifying mark on our justice system

That means 1 out of every 50 men sentenced to death in America is an innocent man
