You really need a link at this point when I don't know how many other states are doing the same thing?

Yes. That's how false information gets spread. I wasn't doubting the OP, but sometimes partial truths are posted here because people want to be first to get the info out.

Yes. It's just a smarter version of America. I guess some of you are learning for the first time that the state legislatures you elected (yes, even Republicans since most southern states are majority Republican) have enacted emergency provision laws that specifically deal with outbreaks of infectious diseases and allow for such action to be taken. Especially when you have no constitutional right to go out drinking or snacks. State and local governments have been able to regulate bars and restaurants since... forever.

Spoken like a true tin-foil hat shut-in that knows nothing about civics, the Constitution, or how local government operates. The governor of Florida, Ron Desantis, is a Republican and basically a Trump clone. But I guess he's a socialist, too.

Where is that in the law, and is that law constitutional?

LINK

quote:

A state of emergency is a situation in which a government is empowered to perform actions or impose policies that it would normally not be permitted to undertake. A government can declare such a state during a natural disaster, medical pandemics/epidemics, civil unrest, or armed conflict. Such declarations alert citizens to change their normal behavior and orders government agencies to implement emergency plans. Justitium is its equivalent in Roman law—a concept in which the senate could put forward a final decree (senatus consultum ultimum) that was not subject to dispute.

States of emergency can also be used as a rationale or pretext for suspending rights and freedoms guaranteed under a country's constitution or basic law. The procedure for and legality of doing so vary by country.

No idea. I'd suspect not since you can spread out on a beach, in parks, etc.

Gif fail. Anyway, no, I'm right. Let me know when you find such a right in either the US or a state Constitution.
