Jacob Desue a Police Officer in Bradford County, Florida pulled over a Black pregnant woman w/ her 3 kids in the car for speeding. He made her get out & pulled a gun on her. The kids recorded this and it's matched w/ body cam footage. Desue has resigned.

quote:

The incident happened Aug. 12 just before midnight when Bradford County Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Desue tried to pull over Ebony Washington, of Jacksonville, the sheriff's office said.

Washington was speeding at 75 mph in a 55-mph zone as she drove north on State Road 200, the sheriff's office said, and when Desue indicated that she should pull over, she didn't stop her vehicle. She put on her hazard lights, slowed and drove until she pulled into a gas station in front of a convenience store.

Desue followed her with his siren and emergency lights on and ordered her to stop. At one point, Desue said over the patrol vehicle’s PA system, “Pull the vehicle over or I will put you into the ground!” the sheriff's office said.

Body camera video of the incident released by the sheriff’s department and shared by John M. Phillips, Washington’s attorney, showd Desue shouting to Washington’s car, “If you make any movement, that’ll be your last mistake you’re going to make.”

kudos to her for remaining calm. No wonder why people hate the police, even when they answer the cops questions they think they have the right to verbally assault people.

If he wasn't in an unmarked car, she should have pulled over immediately. But no chance you're winning the PR battle against a black single mom

that cop is a prick

He should be glad she pulled off the highway to where he's less likely to get hit or cause a traffic hazard.

Yes, but it's not the end of the world to do what she did. And based on the interaction here, it could have saved her life.

"it was dark, I thought she reached for something" he puts in his report after he put 9 bullets in her.

It's safer for the cop to be in front of the gas station also. He's being a douchebag for no reason.

Here you go:

quote:

After being handcuffed and taken near the rear of the police vehicle, Washington continues to try to explain that she didn’t stop because it was dark and that she had put her hazard lights on and driven to a well-lit area because she didn’t want her kids to be uncomfortable or scared.

Desue yells: “I don’t care about the why! Just shut up! I don’t care about the why!"

Never said it was, but it should be expected that the cop will be more on edge when the driver constantly ignores his directions, especially late at night.

Did they change the law? I always thought it was best to find a parking lot or safe area for the cop to walk around the vehicle. Side of the road, especially city street, are dangerous. Well lit area seems safer for everyone..

All I'm saying is ignoring an officer's commands at night is a recipe for having an officer on edge. Not saying it's right or wrong.

That was a general comment with how the media covers these things, not about this specific incident. Would you really like to argue against it?

Wow there's a concept that many could follow and not turn it into a protest later down the road. Cop was in the wrong on this one. A woman should drive to a well lit location if pulled over at night.

Don’t speed is always a good start, especially seat belt over baby in womb

Well no one is arguing that she shouldn't have been pulled over for speeding.

My wife when she was 16 (no pics pervs) was attempted to be pulled over on a dark road. Her father had told her if you are ever scared, drive to the nearest well lite place.

A cop knocked on her window when she was stopped at a random red light and asked her for her license and registration. She took off and tried to drive to the nearest gas station. The cop and multiple others caught up and pulled her over. They dragged her out of the car, scraped her face up on the pavement, searcher her, her friend, the car etc. Just about the time the male officer was finishing up his search on the juvenile female, my wife’s father who is an attorney pulled up. We will just say it didn’t end well for 3 of the cops and the city.

My wife is white and still weighs maybe 100lbs and these POS officers treated this 16 year old girl like she was a real threat. Some like this officer in the story are in power trips and need to be exposed like this.
