This thread shows how two people can watch the same thing and come to totally different conclusions. This is why juries scare the hell out of me.

I called the Florida City Mayor's office to ask if the Mayor was going to give a public statement regarding the officer dog shooting incident. The Mayor's assistant asked me if I saw the video. I said yes. She said "Well I would have done the same thing." I said "You would have shot a dog in the face that was coming to greet you?" She said "Yes, especially since it was a pitbull." I said "first of all it wasn't a pitbull. Secondly, how dare you say this to me." I asked her name. She wouldn't give it to me. I asked her name 2 more times and she hung up on me. I called back and found out that her name is Jennifer - the Mayor's direct assistant. Their number is 305-247-8221. Please call them and let them know what you think of this.

The dog clearly was exhibiting aggressive behavior and charged the officer. Good shoot.

It's pretty easy to spot the pieces of shite in this thread.

He believed there to be a crime in progress and was investigating the scene. A dog exhibiting aggression charged him. He eliminated the threat quickly and effectively. His training worked.

You guys are crazy the dog getting killed was absolutely justified. The fact that the cop had a moment of discomfort is true tragedy.

there really isn't though

Woman should have had more dog awareness - don't let the dog run out. I guarantee 25% or more of the posters here would have at least been nervous seeing that dog coming at them.

There was a horror movie production here that was filming here at a doctor's antebellum house. The movie's security guard was scared of one of the doctor's dogs, called the police, and the local officer shot the dog.

Now that would have pissed me off.

She said she was trying but the dog slipped out of her hand. You could tell she was trying to get the dog back by how slowly the door was being opened. I've seen dogs slip out of doors hundreds of times. It happens when they get excited.

Sure.

Still doesn't give anyone the right to kill the dog because he made them nervous.

You know how many times I've been mocked charged while running? I guess I should have just shot everyone of those dogs and I guess I would have been completely justified in doing so according to some on here. Even if the dog never left its property.

That is a clear sign the dog was aggressive and uncontrollable.

Yes it does. When bodily harm is being threatened, you have the right to respond with proportional force. A dog that size is a threat to a human life.

Yeah guys cops should never have a moment of nervousness or any kind of discomfort. We are just lucky he didn't call his gang and kill every living thing that was there.

DON'T EVER MAKE A COP UNCOMFORTABLE!!!!!!!!!! THEY NEED ABSOLUTE PEACE AND TRANQUILITY!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU DARE DISRUPT THEM DEADLY FORCE WILL BE USED!!!!!!!!!!
