3 hospitalized after dog attacks family

LINK

A pit bull attacked three members of a Safety Harbor family on Friday, and the dog had to be stabbed to death to stop.

he Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said it received a call about 4:07 p.m. from a house in the 700 block of West Gate Drive. At the home were Heidi Cooper, 45, and her two daughters, Sierra Wilson, 22, and Meaghan Tokay, 14.

Deputies said the family had three pit bulls in the home. One was named Buster, who was known to be aggressive and was kept in a separate room. Buster got loose, however, and attacked the other dogs.

Nikki Cagen says Buster was her boyfriend’s pit bull. She says her boyfriend is deployed with the Marines and left Buster in his family’s care.

Too early on a Monday for this sort of word problem.

Some more gold:

quote:

“He was the sweetest dog ever. I would come in the house and he would sit in my lap like a little puppy. He was so sweet,” she said.

And, from another news article:

quote:

A pregnant 22-year-old stabbed the family Pit Bull to death after it became vicious and “turned” on its owners Friday.

Sierra Wilson stabbed the dog, named Buster, when it began attacking two other dogs and then its owners when they tried to intervene, the Pinella County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Dogs left in a pen all day will be a**holes if they escape. It being a pitbull just brings things up several notches because they are agressive to begin with.

I bought my kids and my pup to pet fest yesterday. The Jefferson Parish Animal shelter had a big pen set up with a bunch of dogs for adoption, 90% were pit bulls. I refused to let my kids get in the cage with them.

So you live in the kind of neighborhood that doesn't have Pit Bulls? Good for you and your kids.

Sounds like it's time to rename that place.

Did you buy them all from a reputable breeder or were they from a puppy mill?
