That pledge might have been pressured to go along, but he wasn't forced to do anything. If he was blindfolded and told to snort a substance, he could have said "No, I'm not going to snort a mystery substance. That could be drain cleaner."

Yeah, I wouldn't have done that. No sense in making someone do something that is illegal. If he chose to do it and knew, it would be on him but this wasn't the case.
