JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man arrested more than 40 times in the last two decades is back in jail. Charles Antonio Brown was arrested on August 18, 2025 on a charge of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under the age of 12.
Brown was first arrested in 1998 in Jacksonville on drug charges and sentenced to a year in jail. Since then, court records show he has been in and out of jail nearly every year.

Curtis Fallgatter is a former chief assistant federal prosecutor. He said Brown's arrest might be a record in his experience.
“I've been doing a long time, but I've never seen someone that had 43 arrests," Fallgatter said.

Most notably in 2010, Brown pleaded guilty to child abuse and was sentenced to 228 days in jail. He spent 22 months in jail for drugs charges in 2012. Then in 2015 Brown was sentenced to four years in jail for drug charges which was his longest stint behind bars according to court documents.
quote:
“There's only so much a judge can do to prevent him. You can't give him a life sentence if they've got a third degree felony and they can't get more than five years, so you can't really prevent them from going out committing more crimes unless you give them a life sentence, which those are rare," Fallgatter explained.

Brown is now facing a charge of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under the age of 12, which means he could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted under Florida law. Fallgatter said Brown’s prior arrests could play a factor in his sentencing if he is found guilty.

Why in the hell would someone only get 228 days in jail for child abuse?

Single bullet to the back of the head. Should’ve happened long ago.

Ya frickin' think? Lock this dude up for life. Society should be protected by people that have demonstrated they cannot live amongst us without harming children.
