I know we have a charity/help thread but it's gone quiet.
My son and I are driving in from Atlanta this weekend. I've reached out to a couple of charities, but havent heard back.
Where is the greatest need?
Thanks for the guidance!

From Atlanta? Drive west until you see more 4x4's than large rims.
Eta: sarcasm, thanks for your help.

We helped with a private school. It seems getting the kids back in school would be a great service to all, so maybe call some churches that went under that have attached pre k programs or the sort?

If you could bring a couple trailer loads of Sheetrock that would be coo

Do you have FB? If so, put a post on there saying you want to help and what days you are available and what skills/services you can offer and ask if anyone knows people needing help. Then see who replies and go from there.
FB seems to be a big way of organizing help through all this.

Bring gloves, masks, rubber boots and a flat bar and exit I-12 at Walker, Denham Springs or Millerville and drive through the subdivisions looking for houses to gut. The ones with the smallest debris piles will give you a clue where they are in the process.

Are people already hanging new drywall? I thought the gutted walls had to air out/dry for at least a few weeks before new walls could be put up?

The people bitching about schools are in need of a reality check....

Impotent waffle on here hooked us up in Denham for this past sunday, seems like he's been organizing a lot of groups to go out

I've been ordering dry wall and getting it within a day or two. I suspect it will start backing up soon

St. Amant. I can count on one hand how many homes DIDN'T flood.
